Terms of Service
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
1. Contractual Agreement
By accessing and executing diagnostic queries via Get DNS INFO ("the Service"), you enter into a binding agreement with Get DNS INFO LLC. Our infrastructure is provided as a utility for legitimate network administration, cybersecurity research, and web development. If you do not accept these terms in their entirety, you must immediately cease use of our resolving nodes.
2. Acceptable Use & API Rate Limiting
Our platform utilizes a highly complex, 28-node global Anycast network to resolve queries. To maintain 99.99% uptime and prevent degradation of service (DoS), we strictly enforce the following utilization limits:
- Manual Web UI Queries: Unlimited for standard human interaction.
- Automated Scraping Prohibition: The use of headless browsers (e.g., Puppeteer, Selenium), cURL scripts, or unauthorized bots to aggressively scrape our web interface is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent IP-level ban via our Web Application Firewall (WAF).
- Token Bucket Algorithm: Our backend API enforces a token bucket rate-limiting algorithm. Standard unauthorized access is limited to 60 requests per minute per IP address. Exceeding this threshold will trigger a HTTP 429 Too Many Requests response.
For organizations requiring high-throughput, automated access to our DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) endpoints, you must negotiate a dedicated Enterprise API contract. Contact our engineering team for whitelist provisioning.
3. Intellectual Property Rights
The underlying source code, proprietary algorithms (including our concurrent DNS propagation methodology), user interface designs, and extensive educational written content (such as our tool descriptions and blog posts) are the exclusive intellectual property of Get DNS INFO LLC.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Service. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or reverse-engineer our frontend logic or scrape our proprietary written content for use on competing websites.
4. Service Level Agreement (SLA) & Disclaimers
While we strive for extreme accuracy by querying authoritative nameservers directly, the nature of the global Domain Name System means data is subject to external latency, upstream caching errors, and BGP routing anomalies.
- "As Is" Provision: THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
- Limitation of Liability: Under no circumstances shall Get DNS INFO LLC be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including loss of profits, data, or business continuity) arising from your reliance on the diagnostic output of our tools.
- No Professional IT Advice: Our tools provide raw data. Interpreting this data and modifying your enterprise DNS zones (like MX or TXT records) is done entirely at your own risk.
5. External Integrations
Our diagnostic suite interacts with third-party infrastructure (e.g., Google Public DNS, Cloudflare, ICANN WHOIS databases). We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the uptime, content, or privacy policies of these external databases. If a top-level domain (TLD) registry rate-limits our WHOIS queries, we will faithfully report the timeout error to you, but we cannot force upstream compliance.
6. Policy Modifications
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. Material changes (such as modifications to our API rate limits) will be noted by updating the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of the platform following modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
