DNS Propagation Volatility

Our DNS Propagation Checker queries 28+ global nodes simultaneously. However, a "green checkmark" indicating resolution in New York does not guarantee that a specific user's local ISP in New York has cleared their cache.

• TTL Enforcement: Many consumer ISPs (like Comcast or AT&T) notoriously ignore Time-To-Live (TTL) values, caching records significantly longer than instructed to save bandwidth.
• BGP Routing: Results may fluctuate based on underlying Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing changes occurring in real-time.
• Conclusion: Our propagation maps represent the state of the authoritative internet backbone, not necessarily the last-mile consumer experience.

WHOIS & IP Geolocation Accuracy

The data presented in our WHOIS and IP Lookup tools is aggregated from top-tier Regional Internet Registries (ARIN, RIPE, APNIC) and ICANN-accredited registrars.

• IP Geolocation: IP mapping is inherently flawed at the city level. An IP address showing in "Dallas, Texas" represents the location of the ISP's datacenter routing node, not the physical address of the user.
• VPNs & Proxies: The proliferation of iCloud Private Relay, corporate VPNs, and Zero Trust networks means an IP address often represents a proxy edge server rather than the true origin client.
• WHOIS Privacy: Due to GDPR, most WHOIS contact records are legally redacted. We cannot verify the physical identity of domain owners beyond the public registrar identifiers.
